We’re back!

After building the online store and delivering literally thousands of books across Guelph, I was feeling a little burnt out. I took the site down “for a few days”. A few days turned into a few weeks as I rediscovered the joys of having free time to sleep and read and think. The only thing more fun than selling books is reading them!

Navigating all of the changes lately has been stressful. A rest was essential and rejuvenating. It helped me clarify a lot of things, both personally and for the business. It’s time, however, to get back to work!

We’re resuming free delivery within Guelph and adding an option for curb-side pickup. You’ll be able to choose at checkout. Curb-side pickup will be available daily between 12 and 4 pm. You’ll receive a notification when your order is ready.

We are not quite ready to open the store yet for browsers. The health and safety of our customers, staff and community are of paramount importance. We understand how important the physical experience of browsing is, and we will continue to provide this experience when the time is right. The plan is to re-open the store sometime in July. 

We are not doing any buying at this time. We expect to resume buying in July.

We are using this time to make some improvements to the store. The kids section is getting a major overhaul to make it larger and easier to browse. We’re re-organizing the back room — we’ve found all sorts of treasures back there. I’m also letting go of some items in my personal collection. So although we are not doing any buying at this time, the will be lots of new and interesting books being added to inventory.

I’d like to apologize to anyone who has not received a response to an email, phone call, Instagram or Facebook message: I’ve been a little overwhelmed keeping up with it all. If you were looking for a book and did not receive a response: we don’t have it. If you’re looking to sell your books: we’re not buying at the moment. I’m currently working on getting through the backlog.
